SPY gamma exposure today: Friday, October 30, 2026
SPY gamma exposure today, from Senntric’s own GEX model: the call wall, put wall, magnet, net GEX and regime as of the latest close, with a plain-English read. Gamma exposure (GEX) estimates how much options hedging may push or hold SPY as it moves, strike by strike.

The plain-English read
SPY GEX levels today, in plain English.
What the structure says going into the session. A description, not a prediction or advice.
- 01SPY closed in a neutral regime: positive and negative gamma near spot roughly offset, so the levels matter more than the regime.
- 02Spot ($768.97) sits between the 765 put wall (0.5% below) and the 770 call wall (0.1% above), the range the largest put and call concentrations frame.
- 03The magnet is 780, the positive-gamma strike near spot most likely to anchor price under this structure.
- 04Modeled net GEX is −$4.3B per 1% move across all expirations, net negative gamma.
Definitions
What is GEX? Call wall, put wall and regime.
- Gamma exposure (GEX)
- An estimate of how much options dealers may need to buy or sell the underlying as its price moves, summed strike by strike from gamma and open interest.
- Call wall
- The strike with the largest call-side gamma concentration; it often caps or pins rallies.
- Put wall
- The strike with the largest put-side gamma concentration; it often slows declines, and a clean break below can speed selling up.
- Magnet
- The positive-gamma strike near spot most likely to anchor price under the current structure.
- Regime
- Pinning when positive gamma dominates near spot (moves dampen), acceleration when negative gamma dominates (moves extend), neutral when they offset.

Zero gamma
SPY gamma flip: why we show a regime instead.
The gamma flip (zero gamma) is the price where modeled net dealer gamma changes sign. Computing it properly means repricing every option’s gamma at hypothetical spot prices; the shortcut many sites use, interpolating the strike where cumulative GEX crosses zero, can land far from where the sign really changes.
Senntric reports the regime instead, from modeled net GEX within 2% of spot (weighted 65%) and in total (35%): pinning, acceleration or neutral. It answers the same question a flip level is used for: are moves more likely to be absorbed or extended?
Method and timing

The formula
For every SPY and QQQ option contract: gamma × open interest × 100 × spot² × 1%, summed by strike across all expirations. Calls count as positive gamma and puts as negative, the convention most GEX tools use.
When it updates here
At each regular-session close (4:00 pm ET, or 1:00 pm ET on early-close days); the page checks every ten minutes. During the session these are the prior close’s levels, the structure traders map before the open. Open interest itself updates once a day.
Live in Senntric
In the app the same model refreshes every five minutes, with 0DTE, 1–7 day and 8–30 day views, a strike-by-expiry heatmap and the levels drawn on your chart.
A model, not dealer books
Dealer inventory is not public, so every GEX tool models it. Levels from different vendors differ because their methods differ; Senntric publishes its method so the numbers can be attributed.
Questions traders ask
SPY gamma exposure FAQ
What is SPY gamma exposure today?
As of the October 29, 2026 close, Senntric’s GEX model shows: SPY call wall 770, put wall 765, magnet 780, neutral regime, net GEX −$4.3B. The levels cover all expirations and update after every regular-session close.
Is SPY in positive or negative gamma?
At the October 29, 2026 close SPY’s modeled net GEX was −$4.3B per 1% move (net negative), and the regime near spot was neutral. Positive gamma tends to dampen moves; negative gamma tends to extend them.
What are the SPY call wall and put wall?
The SPY call wall is 770 and the put wall is 765 as of the October 29, 2026 close. The call wall is the strike with the largest call-side gamma and often caps rallies; the put wall is the largest put-side concentration and often slows declines. Neither is guaranteed.
Where is the SPY gamma flip (zero gamma) level?
Senntric does not publish one. A defensible flip level requires repricing every option across hypothetical prices, and the quick estimates many sites show can sit far from where the sign really changes. The regime (pinning, acceleration or neutral) answers the same question from the net GEX actually near spot.
What is QQQ gamma exposure today?
As of the October 29, 2026 close: QQQ call wall 720, put wall 700, acceleration regime, net GEX −$5.4B. Same Senntric model and cut-off as SPY.
Is there free SPY GEX data?
Yes. This page publishes SPY and QQQ GEX levels for free after every close, with the as-of time. Live intraday levels, 0DTE views and the heatmap are part of Senntric’s paid workspace; other free and paid options are compared in the best gamma exposure (GEX) tools.
How often do these GEX levels update?
Once per session here: the levels are cut at the regular-session close and the page checks for them every ten minutes. In the Senntric app they update every five minutes during the session.
How is GEX calculated?
Per contract, exposure per 1% move is gamma × open interest × 100 (the contract multiplier) × spot² × 0.01. Senntric sums it by strike and expiration, counting calls as positive and puts as negative gamma. How to read GEX.
